We partnered with ITG to build the N52 “Party-Mode” Filter

A bolt-on, domed foam filter for our lidless trumpet setup - built the right way.

For everyone running our lidless or open-stack N52 intake ("party mode"): we promised a proper filter. Today we are confirming our partnership with ITG Air Filters (UK) to build a bolt-on, serviceable solution designed specifically for our trumpet system.




Why this matters

Our injection-molded N52 trumpet base was designed to run with or without a lid. Many of you love the sound and response of the lidless setup - but running open stacks without filtration is not necessarily acceptable for daily use. We have been working for months to solve this correctly, and ITG is the right partner.


What we are building with ITG

  • Bolt-on panel that uses our existing M5 bolt pattern and acts as the nut side.
  • Domed, multi-layer oiled foam on a stainless support mesh to keep the media clear of the trumpet inlets.
  • 2 mm aluminum baseplate with captive hardware and a soft sealing gasket on the rear face (dust seal).
  • Designed for Valvetronic-only, throttle-less "party mode." If you want a sealed plenum, use our lidded system.

Goal: preserve the open-stack character while adding real filtration and easy serviceability.


Where we are today

  • Our manufacturing partner has completed the production unit 1 trumpet as of 9/16/25.
  • ITG has our flange CAD, has completed engineering drawings, and is manufacturing a prototype filter matched to our bolt pattern and clearances.
  • We will publish finalized specs, photos, and pricing after prototype validation.

Availability and pricing

We are targeting an initial batch after prototype sign-off. Pricing will be announced after we confirm total landed costs (manufacturing, shipping, duties). We are also evaluating volume options to keep unit cost sensible.

Maintenance note

This is an oiled-foam motorsport filter: clean, dry, and re-oil at sensible intervals. For harsh dust or rain, or any deep-water scenario, use our lidded and sealed plenum setup.

FAQ

Is this a replacement for the lidded system?

No. This filter is only for the lidless or open-stack ("party mode") setup. The lidded plenum system remains the best choice for customers who want sealed filtration, supercharged applications, or daily driving in harsh conditions. While deleting the throttle for Valvetronic-only operation is cool, it is not the right solution for everyone - many builds are better served with the lid plus throttle configuration.

Can I run this filter with the lid?

No. The party-mode filter and the lid are two separate options. The domed foam panel is designed to sit directly over the trumpets. The lid requires a sealed plenum, so they are not compatible with each other.

Are these filters serviceable?

Yes. The ITG domed foam filters are fully serviceable. They use multi-layer, oiled foam on a stainless mesh cage. Wash, dry, and re-oil with standard foam filter oil for long service life.

When can I buy?

After we validate the prototype and publish final pricing and ETA.
